.: Rothko boy.:Ok, time to get organized. :-)
We've had a great year! More than anything we've learned so much about what's important to us. We started out only Waldorf-inspired, and are ending 1st grade more Waldorfy than I ever thought possible. haha Our main lesson books have become increasingly beautiful, the stories more soulful, the crafting more focused. We gave way too little attention to the recorder, to modeling, to knitting, and to watercolor painting, strangely, as these are some of our favorite things in the world. Here's a re-cap:
-we did the fairy tales/alphabet block (LOVED IT!) and yes, he was already reading fluently beforehand...it was still amazing
-loved the math gnomes, supplemented it with Miquon Math
-loved the quality of numbers block
-Alex is reading books faster than I can replace them...it's crazy!
-his writing has improved tremendously, although his hand still cramps up if he does it for too long
-we travelled to Vienna and to Sardinia during this homeschool year
-we have become addicted to window stars and kirigami flowers :-)

We've already gotten most of our books and supplies for 2nd grade and we are looking forward to it like crazy! I'll post all about that later, I still want to put up a few photos of our lesson books from 1st. Soon, soon.
